I look forward to meeting you.

As therapy is similar to any other relationship between two people, it is important to know that we are a good match for one another. For all new clients, I begin with a 1-hour session so that together we can evaluate just that. During this meeting, I’ll  also be happy to answer any questions you may have about me, my approach, and my background. When the fit doesn't seem quite right, I'll often suggest alternative approaches for you.

The people I enjoy working with and work best with are those who are ready for profound change.  Whether you experience your challenge as being existential or spiritual, you have the sense that you need to see things in a new way that will be more than just a reworking of the past.

I'm fascinated with all things technology-related as well as the Arts, and enjoy working with people in those communities. I've also worked with many individuals and couples considering or involved in open relationships. I prefer to think of these as “intentional” relationships—ones where the individuals involved allow possibilities and choices that exceed those most often dictated by societal convention.

My approach to working with couples is  innovative,  yet grounded in time honored principles of Family Therapy. It is an optimal way to allow a couple to move through  marital conflict very quickly. I also advocate premarital counseling because so many divorces are simply the result of never being taught the tools for a happy marriage. Beginning well is crucial to sustaining a relationship over the long haul.

My office is in San Francisco, though I’m also available for phone consultations, upon request. I do not accept insurance but I’m flexible about fees when the situation warrants it.

As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
